The Return of "Desperate Housewives!"

Speaking of primetime soaps, the "Desperate Housewives" season premiere airs Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 9 p.m., Eastern Time, on ABC. Here, we get to find out if Mike lives or dies, whether or not Bree will fall into Orson's emotional entrapment, and more. Did you know that "Desperate Housewives" won a Future Classic Award at the 3rd Annual TV Land Award show, held on March 16, 2005? They sure did! Furthermore, several women of classic TV participated in a skit entitled "Desperate Classic Housewives," which aired during the show. Wisteria Lane's newest inhabitants featured Marion Ross of "Happy Days" filling in for Marcia Cross ("Bree Van De Kamp"), Barbara Eden of "I Dream of Jeannie" for Nicolette Sheridan ("Edit Britt"), Charo of "The Love Boat" for Eva Longoria ("Gabrielle Solis"), Joyce DeWitt of "Three's Company" for Teri Hatcher ("Susan Mayer") and Shirley Jones of "The Partridge Family" for Felicity Huffman ("Lynette Scavo"). Also starring in the parody were The Beaver himself, Jerry Mathers ("Sexy, Young Gardener"), Don Knotts of "The Andy Griffith Show" & "Three's Company" (Mary Alice's husband), "Happy Days'" Tom Bosley ("Rex") and "Barney Miller's" Abe Vigoda (Hot Stud Plumber"). That was indeed a classic moment to remember.
