I watched "Mad Men" on AMC for the first time this week, since they had an all-day marathon of Season 1 showing on Sunday, July 20,2008. Now, I can't wait to watch Season 2, which premieres on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 10 p.m., ET. This show rocks!
This AMC original, Golden Globe®-winning drama is set in 1960's New York. The show was created, executive produced and written by Weiner. Stars include Jon Hamm ("We Were Soldiers"), Elisabeth Moss ("The West Wing"), Vincent Kartheiser ("Angel"), John Slattery ("Desperate Housewives"), Christina Hendricks ("Kevin Hill"), and January Jones ("We Are Marshall") along with guest star and stage/screen legend, Robert Morse ("How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying"). The show also includes Michael Gladis ("Third Watch"), Aaron Staton ("The Nanny Diaries"), Rich Sommer ("The Devil Wears Prada"), and Bryan Batt ("La Cage Aux Folles"). No wonder the show is so good! Just take a look at the cast!
Don Draper (played by Hamm) is the biggest ad man (and ladies man) in the business. While playing duo roles, Don struggles to stay a step ahead of rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels. The series also depicts the roles of men and women in this era, while exploring the true human nature beneath the guise of 1960's traditional family values.
