The Return of "Grey's Anatomy"

Another possible primetime soap opera is "Grey's Anatomy." Even though the interns on the show save lives each week, their personal lives should be part of a soap opera. Intern, Meredith Grey and Dr. Derek Shepherd fight their true feelings for each, due to a short fling they had after they met at a bar. Since his estranged wife, Dr. Addison Shepherd, decides to take a job at Grace Seattle Hospital, their relationship becomes even more complicated. Fellow interns, George O'Malley, Christina Yang, who became pregnant by Dr. Burke, miscarried the baby, then moved in with him; Isobel "Izzie" Stevens, who fell in love with her dying heart patient, Denny Duquette; and Alex Karev, who slept with most of the women in the hospital, including Izzie, apparently, also have their share of drama. Doctors Miranda Bailey, Preston Burke, and Richard Webber, who, by the way, had an affair with Meredith's mother many years before, causing a breakup between her parents, all attempt to guide the interns and try to keep them on their toes. Believe me, this is not an easy job. The season premiere airs on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 9 p.m., Eastern Time, on ABC.
